Make Them Last.

In order to prolong the vase life of your flowers, change the vase water every other day at minimum.

Make sure that all of the stems fall fully below the waterline and no foliage is submerged

Keep your flowers in a location where they will be protected from direct sunlight, heat, and strong breezes.

If you are using your own vase, remember to wash and disinfect it between uses to prevent bacteria growth, which will shorten the life of your flowers.

Use purified water when available. In some cases, hard water, or the salts in softened water can shorten the life of your flowers.

You can carefully remove your bouquet from the water and trim the ends of the stems, every few days, to help your flowers take up more water.

Most blooms should last at least 5 days if properly conditioned. Some flower varieties should be expected to have a shorter vase life. These include some varieties of poppies, dahlias, and sweet peas.

Keep your bouquet away from fruits and vegetables, some of which produce gases that will shorten vase life.
